Building Maintenance Engineer - Entry Level As an Engineer with the Saint Louis Art Museum you will perform plant maintenance and apply mechanical, electrical, automation, construction, science, math, and computer skills to precisely operate, monitor, design, service and repair a 24-hour LEED gold certified critical climate control system. This system supports over 34,000 works of art that are sensitive to light, temperature, and relative humidity. Engineering Technicians are responsible for servicing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and controls equipment ongoing. Engineers have the added responsibility of assisting art preparators, curators, and the events team in bringing to life art exhibitions and private events through their support functions. This position offers a unique experience in learning a wide range of stimulating generalist responsibilities day to day in managing this 200,000 sq ft building. Those without experience with a strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and drive to learn building support are encouraged to apply. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform scheduled and plant maintenance duties: MechanicalAir handlers, , pumps, low/medium chillers, heat exchangers, multi-zone/mini-split heat pumps, high pressure hot water boilers, steam boilers, fan coil units, , cooling towers, air compressors, , other HVAC equipment, and fire suppression equipment. ElectricalRepair, maintain, inspect and read blueprints for low voltage electrical equipment (up to 480 volts) . All work performed must meet the regulations of the National Electrical Code. PlumbingDuties include soldering, threading and braising pipes. Repair, replace and maintain plumbing systems throughout the facility. ControlsPneumatic and DDC thermostats and actuators, , sensors, automation systems including Andover Continuum, Niagara 4, , Power Link, Honeywell, Lutron, BO, Clipsal, Modbus, BACnet, and Schedule Plus. Additional duties include:Supervising and coordinating contractors during construction projects and service maintenance.Troubleshoot and diagnostics of plant equipment.Daily boiler and chiller plant logs.Open and closed loop water testing.Blue print and schematic reading.Ability to work autonomously Required Qualifications: High school diploma or technical training in Industrial, HVACR, Facilities Technology or Control Systems Technology. .Ability to lift up to 45 pounds. Must be comfortable with heights. Must have computer skills. Must be willing and able to work occasional scheduled nights, holidays and weekends (approximately one per month), as well as scheduled on-call for emergency repairs. Entry-level applicants without experience must be willing to undergo on-the-job training in each competency listed above. Preferred: EPA 608: Universal. Additional Details:Minimum of Range: $24.42 per hour or commensurate with experience.
